Central licence registration
Food Safety Standards Authority of India requires all importers and exporters to be registered with their office. Registration fee is rs. 7500-00 per year.
Once registeration is granted, importers can import all goods listed in the Fssai categories. Any product which is unlisted can be imported only subject to regualtions placed on them in this regards.
The Fssai registration number should be inscribed on the label or can be labeled in India, inside the port, which is very very time consuming.
Fssai has implemented Risk Mangaement System and only high risk products are tested on arrival in India.
